Ready to kick your Skyward smarts up a notch? Attend iCon 2024!

iCon is Skyward’s international conference. The event is held at the beachfront TradeWinds Island Resort in St. Pete Beach, Florida. As an iCon attendee, you’ll get insight on new and upcoming Skyward features and learn how to achieve more with your solution—all while connecting and collaborating with Skyward executives, employees, and users from around the world.

Let’s take a closer look at what this conference has to offer in 2024.

Conference schedule

  • Wednesday, March 6: 1:00 to 5:30 PM
  • Thursday, March 7: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Friday, March 8: 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM

Sessions

iCon is structured so each attendee can build a schedule that suits their interests and their district’s needs. You’ll create your own schedule by choosing from 40+ sessions on a variety of topics like parent engagement, security best practices, and fee management. There are sessions for both SMS 2.0 and Qmlativ, as well as sessions on getting ready to migrate. Some sessions are led by Skyward staff, while others are taught by Skyward users like you who have found ways to improve their districts and want to share that knowledge with their peers. (Keep reading to find out how you can become one of these presenters.)

We also offer a one-on-one help room. Always hugely popular with attendees, these meetings give you an opportunity to sit down with a member of the Skyward team to receive individualized support and discuss your district’s needs. You can sign up for these sessions at the registration desk when you arrive at iCon. (Note that sessions are limited and fill up quickly.)

In the breaks between sessions, there is always fun to be had (think yard games, themed snacks, and headshot portraits). And when the learning wraps up for the day, there are still a variety of networking opportunities, like beachside socials and a bonfire.

Location

TradeWinds Island Resort has many great perks for attendees. The beachy-vibe conference center is located just steps from the Gulf. When sessions wrap up for the day, you can enjoy fresh seafood at RumFish Grill (its 10,000-gallon fish tank was built on the TV show Tanked), go for a stroll in the sand, or even take a trip down the three-story inflatable slide. There are also plenty of restaurants within walking distance of the resort, where you can grab a bite to eat or enjoy a refreshing beverage.

Want to make the most of your trip and stay longer than the conference? Group room rates are extended for three days before and after iCon. Note that all lodging reservations are made directly through the resort by calling 800-360-4016 or visiting tradewindsresort.com/skyward.

Want to attend iCon for free? Become a presenter!

There are many benefits of presenting at iCon. As a presenter, you’ll receive free conference registration. (Airfare, lodging, and meals outside of the conference are not included.) You’ll also have a chance to gain recognition and credibility as an expert, solicit feedback, and share your district’s successes with other leaders from around the world. Presenting at iCon is a great opportunity to put your district at the forefront of edtech innovation.

Each presenter (or presentation team—you can choose to lead with one other person) will take the floor for a 45-minute session. All topics related to SMS 2.0 or Qmlativ are welcome. You know what challenges other districts are facing and what value you can add to the conversation, so topic choice is in your creative hands. In the past, presenters have covered topics such as:
  • Recruit, Hire, and Welcome Employees in Record Time
  • Finding Success in Your Digital Transformation
  • Positive Attendance
  • RtI Custom Forms and Tiered Training Supports
  • Protecting Student Data
  • PDC Customization
  • Tips, Tricks, and Customizations
Whether you're a business office expert, a data enthusiast, or a classroom advocate, we'd love to hear your ideas. Learn more about becoming a presenter and submitting an application in this form. Applications are due November 17, 2023.

Register!

Registration for iCon 2024 opens September 5. Early bird pricing ends December 15, and registration closes January 31.

We recommend checking out our 2023 event recap, which will paint a clearer picture of what it’s like to attend iCon. Finally, our article iCon or User Group? breaks down the differences between our international conference and state user groups. Give it a read to determine which type of conference is best for you.

We hope to see you next spring!
