STEVENS POINT, Wis. (June 29, 2015) – To prepare school districts for new regulations put in place by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), Skyward, an industry leading K-12 school administrative software provider, has enhanced resources available in its School Business Suite. Designed to help administrators plan, track and report district data with confidence, enhancements include an employee hour-tracking function, integrated IRS forms and tools for detailed forecasting and analysis of employee records.

New regulations under the ACA require all districts to offer affordable health insurance to employees and substitute teachers working an average of 30 hours or more per week during the school year. Beginning in 2016, districts may be fined for noncompliance or failure to report ACA insurance regulations. Skyward’s School Business Suite addresses these changes, offering administrators built-in payroll reports, data mining tools and customizable ranges for easy identification of borderline full-time equivalent (FTE) counts.

“As administrators and school leaders implement new ACA reporting processes, Skyward offers simple and accurate resources to ensure all necessary requirements are met,” said Ray Ackerlund, vice president of sales and marketing at Skyward. “We are committed to providing our customers comprehensive tools that ease the transition and make compliance as streamlined as possible.”

To further support its customers, Skyward will include IRS Forms 1095C and 1095B directly into the School Business Suite, and the company’s dedicated state reporting team will ensure schools meet the necessary reporting requirements. The Skyward School Business Suite empowers districts to reduce non-instructional costs, improve efficiencies and enhance workflow processes. As a complete management solution, the Skyward Business Suite provides tools for creating and managing budgets, enables time and attendance tracking for staff, and empowers educators with access to their personal payroll, time-off and account information.
