STEVENS POINT, Wis. (Jan. 14, 2016) – Skyward, a K-12 school administrative software provider, is experiencing unprecedented growth in the state of Indiana, with 25 new district partnerships in the last two years. MSD of Wayne Township, Lake Central and Wawasee are among Indiana districts that have recently selected and implemented Skyward’s Student Management Suite.
Pete Just, CTO at MSD of Wayne Township said the district began to look at Skyward’s SIS solution as the contract renewal date for its former provider approached. “There are a number of schools in Indiana that use Skyward,” Just said. “I knew that we had a unique opportunity to look around and improve on what we were doing. Skyward is an SIS that has a lot of satisfaction.”
Dave Van Lue, director of technology at Wawasee, and Sarah Castaneda, director of secondary education at Lake Central, echoed similar processes for selecting Skyward’s Student Management Suite as both districts searched for a new SIS. “We contacted school districts in the state to see what they were using,” Van Lue said. “We also requested reference lists and made phone calls and visits to schools.”
“We heard about Skyward from a few other districts in our area that had switched over to the company and were very happy with their new SIS,” Castaneda said. “The immensely positive feedback we received from them cemented our decision.”
“Districts know they have options when it comes to choosing a student information system,” said Ray Ackerlund, chief marketing officer at Skyward. “More than 90 percent of districts today already have an SIS in place, and we are excited to welcome districts that are looking to move to a solution that will evolve with them to meet their changing needs.”
While expanding its customer base is important, Skyward has not let growth affect its commitment to providing excellent service and support. All three districts experienced a smooth adoption of the Student Management Suite with help from a team of education technology experts.
“Skyward staff who helped with the transition were fantastic,” Just said. “One key factor in deciding on an SIS is the features, but a very close second is the team who comes with it to help you in the integration, and we’ve had nothing but great experiences with the Skyward integration team.”
Castaneda agreed. “Our project manager and consultant have been truly outstanding people to work with,” she said. “Their attention to detail, knowledge of the transition process, and good sense of humor have helped make the transition process actually enjoyable.”
“The technology support is awesome,” Van Lue said. “In my 38 years in education, it is the best student management system I have used.”
