STEVENS POINT, Wis. (Jan.10, 2017) – Skyward, an industry leading administrative software firm, announces continued expansion of its municipality customer base in Tennessee. The solution continues to bring county government operations into the 21st century by improving efficiencies and streamlining business operations.
Since 2015, Skyward has partnered with several municipalities, including Hamblen and Marshall County. Both had similar motives for pursuing a new business management solution, arriving at the same conclusion to meet their specific needs. When the time was right to move forward, each county chose to partner with Skyward.
Hamblen County began evaluating new partners when officials learned their previous software was discontinuing support. Hamblen partnered with Skyward to streamline finance and human resources operations by adopting its Municipality Management Suite.
Michelle Woods, director of finance at Hamblen, believes the biggest impact will come when the county begins using Skyward’s attendance tracking system and through the use of online purchase orders. Skyward’s web-based platform should also help the county realize additional savings. “Skyward has great potential, and the possibilities for this software seem almost limitless,” Woods said.
Similarly, Marshall County was on the search for a provider that could streamline all of their payroll operations to strengthen internal controls with time keeping as well as provide ACA compliance.
“Skyward software offered us the ability to track employee’s time accurately, and set up measurement cycles for ACA reporting purposes without having a third party vendor involved,” said Malinda White, director of accounts and budgets at Marshall.
In addition to a more efficient payroll system, and eliminating paper across the county, White enjoys the web- based feature of the Skyward solution. “Skyward also offered us the ability to be web-based with our accounting processes. Approving purchase orders is a simplified process. Recording time off and tracking time is also web based,” she said.
“We are excited to have Hamblen and Marshall County as innovative municipality partners,” said Ray Ackerlund, chief marketing officer at Skyward. “Both counties are a leading example for any municipality working to streamline operations to achieve goals and become future-ready.”
