During the RFP process, my thought of Skyward was “Wow!” Now, several years after the RFP, I am only more enthusiastic and approving of Skyward. Creating financial, budget and activity reports in Skyward is easy, quick, and user-friendly – no programmers needed for nearly all my reporting needs. Since Skyward focuses on K-12, they already know all aspects of our environment unlike other financial products that focus on other types of entities or niches. To have a teammate that both makes my job easier (financial reporting, budgeting, and auditing) and that understands my colleagues jobs/needs is wonderful.

Skyward’s attention to detail for project management, data conversion, and training services was instrumental in our successful implementation of mission-critical systems. Our district has saved a considerable amount of time and money using Skyward for student registration. In the past, we would send all of the forms we used home to each student. Creating a packet included: printing forms, stuffing large envelopes, and finally the postage which would cost anywhere from $3.50-$7.50 per student, depending on the building. Since we started using custom forms, which we saw at iCon two years ago, each building sends a 1-2 page packet in a standard envelope. Skyward has saved us time and money and the continual improvements are great. Thank you, Skyward.

Skyward is very user friendly. We have been able to move some of the responsibility from our control office to the sites. Staff love understanding what goes on with various transactions and don't find the processes to be overwhelming or intimidating. It has also been wonderful for the central office, now sites are familiar with their staff and students and the work load is more distributed.

Skyward allows me to check my grades, it also lets me see if I have missing assignments or things I need to get caught up on. Many teachers use the test taking tool and it helps create a different testing environment.
Skyward's online assignments are useful for students and save time for teachers outside of the classroom.

Skyward's online assignments have proven to be extremely useful in my English literature classroom. While reading a book together, I am able to quiz students often to check for understanding. I was able to devise the quizzes in the summer so that I was prepared when classes began in the fall. With only a few clicks of the mouse, the quiz is available to my students and their scores are automatically placed in the grade book. This time saver allows me the time I need to prepare lesson plans and to teach them, not to spend time correcting papers.

Through the grade book I am able to quickly and easily access parent contact information, the grades of my structured study hall students, and student absences; all of which allow me to monitor my students' progress and intervene in a timely manner when necessary. I have also become an avid user of the online assignment program. It has helped me to provide extremely timely feedback on assessments during and at the end of units, and assists me in analyzing which topics my students need more time to master. I can say without a doubt that incorporating Educator Access into my teaching has made me a more effective classroom teacher.

I use Skyward as a teacher to take attendance and access information of the children in my class. The information can help me when needing to contact a parent or to review a child's medical or educational status. It has been very easy to use and very helpful. I use Skyward as a parent to check grades, missing assignments, general messages from each of my children's schools. Sometimes I know before my son if he has something missing and this has allowed me to stay on top of things. I am able to know his grades and assignment information quickly allowing me to aide in my son's education if needed.

With Skyward, our district saves time and money by being user friendly. I am able to data mine for information that I can then download into Excel for use with other applications. I am able to make field trip check off/money collection forms for my teachers. The form really assists them when preparing for field trips and saves them valuable class time. I also really like the student locator function within Skyward. It is very handy when you need to find a student quickly.

With the introduction of the web-based interface, [Skyward] has risen to a new dimension. At first I was very hesitant and I waited a long time to convert from PaC to web. Now that this conversion is completed I am amazed at the power and the functionality of the product. I have seen a faster and more accurate response to PEIMS and other state and federal requirements in the past two years.

The Skyward grading system has become an integral part of instructional aptitude at ISD 181. All teachers are able to enter grades and adequately monitor student progress. We were ready to virtualize our file servers, and were unsure where to begin. The Skyward IT Services staff helped us to install the hardware and the VMware, and successfully migrated our Groupwise email system to our virtual servers. They even provided us training on how to run the VMware system. Since then, the IT Services staff have been a great resource as we continue to virtualize our servers.

Our High School has a very complicated schedule. Some classes meet every day for one period. Some classes meet every day for two periods. Some meet Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Monday, and Wednesday for two periods. Some of our students attend classes at one of two different local colleges. All of these factors make scheduling very difficult. With Skyward's scheduler all of this has become much easier. Our previous software would allow a student to be scheduled into first period class that met, MWFMW and one that met every day without seeing this as a conflict. Those problems are behind now. As the assistant superintendent of finance and operations for Hutto ISD, I have been using many facets of Skyward finance. This software product not only allows me to ready my financial statements yearly for the external auditors, but allows me to monitor and oversee my budget with ease. The human resources modules of Employee Management allows me to accurately plan for and estimate the district's payroll budget. Overall this is a far superior software product to what I used in a prior district.

I am a typical father who is concerned about my children's education. While typical seems to be a relative term these days, I work out of town all week and Mom works part time and does most of the daily tasks on her own. The days of "how was school today" and "tell me how your test went" seem like decades ago. The response is usually "fine" or "ok" or just a grunt.
In comes Skyward into our lives. You must know that when I now ask "Why does Ms. Jones want you to show your work more?" or "Why did you have coke and two bags of Doritos for lunch?" the response is much different. Knowing these types of specific, detailed items is the difference of a generic response from my kids to one with some concern, or even pride, that "Dad" knows what is going on. Every class, of every day, even though he is 350 miles away.

As a freshman football coach, I use Skyward to help the student athletes reflect each week on their progress in each of their seven classes. Easy access to all of their assignments and scores available through the Skyward student portal allows them to ascertain their grades on a daily basis and helps them to maintain up-to-date goals through monitoring their own progress, and helps them to maintain better grades in all of their classes. This year, for the first time ever, no athlete was ineligible by IHSA standards for the entire season. If not for Skyward, this type of efficient and effective monitoring would not be possible.

The RTI module has been a life saver for our district. Prior to this module,
our RTI teams at each school spent many hours and weeks going over several reports trying to determine who should have interventions. The functionality of the RTI module allows us to assess those students in a matter of minutes. We no longer have to worry about having a student fall through the cracks; what a reassurance that has been!

Skyward helps our students and district by being able to chart student visits to the health room, including symptoms that bring them in, interventions, and result/disposition. As the district nurse, I appreciate the ease the health room assistants have completing office visits and my ability to run reports (per student, reason, attendance, etc.). Tracking illness and helping parents understand their child's frequent complaints often helps guide parents, staff, and the student towards positive outcomes. Without these reports, students could miss valuable class time for preventable and/or manageable reasons.

In spring of 2011, our HR Director (who files the DS-4168 report to the state for our district) had come to me asking about the DS-4168 - Day and Clock Hours Report, required by the state. I couldn't find the report in Skyward, but knew all the information was in the system on our calendars. I wrote to Skyward and they created PR:989321 to generate this report. He hoped it worked, as this has been a time-consuming report to complete each year.
I wanted to let you know that he came to me and asked me to pull the report again from Skyward. He said he had a chance to look at it and found it was excellent! He is very happy to NOT have to be doing this report again manually.

We have been using Fee Management for tracking charges and payments in our Community Education Childcare Centers for several years now. The program works very well, is easy to use after some basic training and provides our department with a valuable tool. We use Crystal Reports to generate weekly reports for payments, weekly attendance and sign-in/sign-out sheets. At the end of the calendar year, we are able to generate tax statements for parents in minutes.

I highly recommend Skyward to any school district. My own district, Saginaw Township Community Schools, has used Skyward as its student as well as business administration software system since 1999. We were one of the first districts in Michigan to implement it. We have been extremely pleased with the software and with the service and support received over the years.

For me, doing accounts payable, Skyward has streamlined the process from requisitions to checks. The ability to track an order from beginning to end and keep that order in history has saved me so much time. I'm just a couple of clicks away from an answer when someone calls with questions about an order. Skyward helps me keep track of all my districts federal and state grants by giving me the flexibility to set up each grant's accounts and budget according to the different specifications outlined in the grant requirements. TrueTime has helped bring our payroll processing down to about a half a day. It is quick, easy, and keeps managers on top of the hours that employees are working. The ease by which time sheets filter into payroll is great. We save so much time and energy by not processing time cards and entering them into the system.

Our District converted to Skyward in July 2005. The Skyward package which included, in part, Human Resources, allowed our District to take giant steps that year in our overall employee and payroll processes. Sad to say, it took me until the 2009/10 school year to take advantage of the Employee Management part of that module. Had I have known the time that it would save me each year in setting up contracts and pay records for the staff I would have begun using it much sooner. The reports are a quick and easy way to monitor staffing throughout the District as well as budgeting salary costs. I wholeheartedly recommend this product.

When our school district began the process of selecting new student management software, we looked at several different ones. The one thing we consistently heard from other districts that were already using Skyward was how great the support is that Skyward provides, both during the conversion process and afterward. We have found this to be very true. The new Live Chat feature is fantastic when you are looking for a quick answer to a simple problem. We have been pleased with our decision to choose Skyward. They already provide a great product but somehow continue to improve.

We have been using Skyward Financial since July 2008. Since the implementation we have been gradually bringing on more inter-connected modules (HR to Payroll Imports, to third party sub caller program and on-line requisitions originating at the staff member level, check reconciliations) and have found that this has given us more efficiencies and effectiveness in processing the transactions. It has also helped in developing the segregation of duties required for internal controls.

Skyward support has been a very valuable partner in a very hectic time. I have spent the last few months 'relearning' portions of Skyward I hadn't used in a long time. Their support staff has been incredibly patient (even if I wasn't). They did not assume I knew the software just because I had been a Skyward user for several years. As the system administrator, Skyward technical support has been the foundation of our smooth-running system. Technical support calls are almost always answered the same day, and I have found these individuals to be patient, knowledgeable, thorough, and who have a friendly sense of humor, which I consider invaluable when dealing with technical issues.

Two years ago Bernalillo Public Schools was in the process of moving to a new student management system that would address the growing needs of our district. As a part of this process, many systems were reviewed and assessed by a district-wide committee composed of individuals across many work levels. Skyward allows our students and parents to follow their daily educational progress. I love Skyward! I love how you can incorporate everything into one program (bus transportation, lockers, grades, profile information, discipline letters, attendance, labels etc.)! Skyward helps our students and district by providing a platform to track and communicate student information to district personnel, parents, and students. Family access and student access keep the students and parents informed and involved. Keeping track of students who are in the district, but also students place outside the district. Automatic emails has improved internal emails to food service, transportation and guidance, when students enroll or withdraw, allowing those areas instant notice of changes. Teachers, parents and students can also communicate more effectively through message center. Additional communication options have increased the interaction among all in Skyward.

Since implementing Skyward in January 2011 I have been able to process payroll more efficiently and effectively. One of the best aspects of Skyward is their customer service. Whenever there is an issue, the customer service team always responds appropriately. It has taken us a while to learn all of the new modules, but the staff at Skyward is friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. The more I use the software, the more I enjoy all of the different features it has to offer. I look forward to our continued relationship with Skyward.

We do an annual student registration. This past summer, instead of our paper packets, we switched to online registration. We used Skyward's great online system utilizing the 10 available steps to do student demographic updates, health forms, transportation, paying fees and food service online, and more. Family and Student Access help parents and students track grades, test scores, fee management, lunch accounts, complete online course requests for high school and now our students are using Online Assignments for tests and assessments. The auto score and post feature reduces teacher errors and decreases the time between when students take a test and when the grade is entered. Online Assignments use has also reduced the need for scan sheets for assignments and is saving the district paper and printing costs.

The conversion to the Skyward Food Service Module will streamline our data entry into one software program. This will eliminate many extra steps and free up additional resources when all budgets are looking to go LEAN. It will also provide our families a single login by utilizing Family Access. ISCorp has been a great asset to our school district. We have had two internal server issues that prompted us to call ISCorp to retrieve and restore our data. Once during payroll processing, our server crashed and we lost half our data. After a prompt call to ISCorp, this matter was handled promptly and all data was restored.

We have been utilizing the Skyward Finance products since 1998. The software itself keeps improving with each year, each new federal or state regulation, each request for enhancement, each progressive change...the list is endless. Moscow School District loves the software for so many reasons! One being the State Reporting responsiveness to State requirements in Idaho. Without Skyward's timely updates and research with Idaho districts we would not be able to stay on top of our reporting requirements set forth by the state of Idaho's ISEE implementation. Being a Skyward user for six full years now, and prior to that, 7 full years with another system, and being the MARSS/State Reporter of student records, I can say with 100% certainty that the Skyward Student Management Suite is the easiest to learn, maneuver around in, pull our data needed for analyzing, and the friendliest product to use for state reporting! Skyward's customer service is the best. They are quick to answer a call, chat, or email. They are friendly, helpful, and go the extra mile to make sure I have what is needed to accomplish a task. As a customer, they treat you like you are part of the Skyward family rather than just a paying customer. The company listens to their customer's ideas for changing and enhancements. They recognize the fact that they alone cannot know what is needed for us to do our jobs with ease and that we need to be free of cumbersome software issues. They work tremendously hard for us and I believe that there is no better product out there than the Skyward product. Folks are really missing out if they do not use this product. It is amazing how much more time I have to complete "other assigned tasks" in my job because the Student module works so well.

Hondo ISD has used Skyward for both our finance and student software since 2002. We have been very happy with the service and quality of the Skyward products. Even though the company is headquartered in Wisconsin, they are very responsive to the special situations of the Texas market addressing PEIMS, TRex, and other TEA requirements. In addition, the reporting and history-tracking capabilities of the systems are great. The move to the web has been a big project for the company, the district and our users, but the transitional migration has been helpful.

As the treasurer for the district, saving money is always a plus, especially with many districts currently experiencing cutbacks. Because of Skyward's program, we have not had to replace some of our retirees.

Currently we are using a 3rd party for substitute calling and then downloading it into Skyward for payroll, and it works wonderfully. Our old system, we had to call the sub and enter by hand, because the program would not allow 3rd party downloads.

We have used Skyward for approximately nine years and we started with PaC. When Skyward first started talking about switching to the web, I hated it and was very reluctant to use it even though I am normally open to change. When they first started introducing the web product, it was very hard to work with and nothing like PaC. But, I must say, Skyward listened to the users and made great improvements to the product and made it seem more like PaC and much more user friendly. I now only work in the web and I have to admit, I like it more and more every day.

I now only work in the web and I have to admit, I like it more and more every day. As the state of Tennessee has drastically changed and increased the importance of the data we are required to submit, our state reporting support person has worked with programming to create new reports and procedures that allow us to check our data before it is uploaded. She has contact with the EIS personnel and does not hesitate to ask questions to make sure Skyward is following the procedures most likely to give us good results.

Skyward and especially their state reporting department has helped Alcoa City Schools get an accurate representation of their actual 'Average Daily Membership' and 'Attendance' in EIS. We were included in a presentation at the Fall Tennessee Attendance Conference as an exemplary district because of our ability to closely replicate numbers reported on the state finance website within the EIS database. In a small school district, student population under 1,800, we have to wear many hats. My hats consist of testing coordinator, gifted coordinator, and student service coordinator. When we were using our previous student data system, I would have to open several of our student information sites and switch back and forth between the sites to gather all the information I needed for various tasks. Now that we are using Skyward, I have almost all of the information I need at one site. This is not only time saving, but I feel less errors are made due to opening and closing , or copying and pasting from several web sites.
I am always confident that Skyward has coordinated with the state agencies to make sure the financial reports are created in the proper format.

After having a program that didn't work, we went looking for a new software company. Although we signed late with Skyward the conversion went perfectly. We had a program manager who called every week and had excellent training for our staff. Skyward not only works as advertised, but customer service is excellent. I highly recommend the Skyward program.

We implemented Skyward and I have seen productivity increase in all areas. Our elementary buildings were new to any kind of system but principals, secretaries and teachers easily adapted. The teachers are sold on the ease of use and love the standards based report card. At the secondary level, everyone has excelled in the use of the program. I can't imagine not working with Skyward. We have moved from outsourcing our payroll to in-house payroll within the past year and a half with the help of Skyward. Needless to say I was very apprehensive of switching my payroll system, but it is great! I really enjoy working with the Skyward program very much. It really cuts down on extra work I had to do with outsourcing.

Switched to the TEA state-sponsored SIS through Skyward and saving money

Skybuild is an invaluable feature for our school district. This allows us to import standardized test scores. The import provides a record of the testing information to Family Access, Student Access and on the Student Profile. With this in place, it saves our Guidance Department time from looking up test score information in paper files and also can be placed on transcripts. Thanks Skyward for having this time saving tool! Skyward Family Access- has been a wonderful tool that parents in our district use on a daily basis. Rice Consolidated I.S.D. uses Skyward apps for PEIMS grading and attendance. This has eliminated having to deploy an in-house server, and then give outside access to our school network. The hosted Skyward also eliminates all the backups, skyward program upgrades, and server maintenance.

Teachers get [Skyward] access from anywhere on the Internet. Since it is hosted on the net, all security issues are addressed externally. Hosting also makes logins and access to Skyward universal. We use the Finance package. One of my favorite features is the check reconciliation. With the number of checks we write, it would take hours to reconcile but reconciling the checks with Skyward can be done in minutes.

Skyward is a great software that is constantly evolving to meet the needs of the 21st century school. I love the new app you can download for the iPhone... puts all the information you need in the palm of your hand!

I like Skyward because it is very user friendly, trustworthy, easy to learn and provides great training materials and support. Our campus personnel caught on to Skyward quickly. Even our school board members have heard from campus personnel on how much they like Skyward. I never hear complaints regarding the software and in the education world, that speaks volume.
We converted to Skyward in April 2010. The sales team and conversion team were wonderful. Our district had gone through two finance software conversions in the previous three years. I had heard horror stories on how bad conversions were, but with Skyward, the conversion was very smooth. They were very thorough in the conversion process and made it as easy as possible.

Prior to our conversion to Skyward software five years ago, we had a student management software that was unreliable and wouldn't do what the district needed it to do without jumping through multiple hoops. Skyward functions the way that I expect it to function, is reliable, and allows me to get done what I need to do in less time. In addition, Skyward's customer service representatives are extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and respond quickly to questions.

I am really pleased with the data mining/report writing capability of the Skyward modules. It allows me to get only the information I want in the format I want, and it prints to the screen with the ability to save it if desired, as opposed to automatically printing it and wasting paper.

Family and Student Access allow families to check grades, attendance, food service accruals, etc. without having to call for information and play phone tag with office staff. It is a convenience that can be utilized when parents and students have time, not trying to call only during specific hours. It also allows families to be able to keep a much better handle on their children, reminding them they need to study for an upcoming test or get their homework done.

Skyward has made my payroll process so much quicker and easier. The payroll worksheets make payroll so easy, entering contract pay is easy, and direct deposit is a life saver. Guardians are able to check how much money they have left in their food account without having to make numerous calls to the school. They can check grades and missing assignments without trying to contact teachers during the school day and while the parent is working.

Skyward has helped our district by streamlining everything! We have been able to build stronger connections between staff and families using Family Access. The notification areas are fabulous. With using Skyward, we have also saved time and money! Skyward has unlimited potential. Mot recently we have started using Skyward to place purchase orders. The purchasing system is so quick and easy! the staff were able to log in and place orders so easily. By doing our purchasing through Skyward there is no looking for 'lost' purchase orders. Each staff member can look to their history. We have also in our finance department been using the truetime for payroll and time off tracking. Brilliant! Besides the software itself, the Skyward staff is amazing. They are quick to answer questions and solve problems. And if we have a problem or issue they will always follow up or take the question to programming. I would recommend Skyward to everyone! They take care of everything

I like that when students are enrolled, food service automatically gets the student and family information. That saves me lots of time in food service because I do not have to enter that information as well.

Three years ago our school district was searching for a web based student management product. I contacted other school districts in Illinois and found Skyward to be the software of choice. Skyward offered extensive on-site training and currently supports us with knowledgeable, friendly technicians who are readily available to answer our questions.

Since we are a small IT department, we have come to rely on Skyward's IT Services department to be our second set of eyes and resident experts on new technologies. When we migrated from a Novell/Groupwise environment to Windows/Exchange, their techs verified our settings and made suggestions and tweaks we either hadn't thought of or missed. They enabled us to deliver our new systems over spring break without missing a beat. Without their help, our transition would have gotten off to a rough start.

I have been the high school secretary at Pittsville for 25 years. I have worked with several different student software products in my 25 years. Skyward, by far, is the easiest, most efficient student software I have used. While working with the software I am able to access information easily, update quickly, and troubleshoot myself. Skyward helps us by making it easy for parents and students to keep track of things. I specifically appreciate that parents can track health office visits. As the health director at our school it is amazing how many kids are frequent fliers and at least I know parents can be aware of this. I also like tracking assignments and grades and upcoming tests on Skyward. Thank you!

Skyward allows my district to monitor human resources, from employee addresses to hourly wages, annual salary, credits, time off, to budgeting, and state reporting. Without Skyward we would not be able to monitor and document all of this important information as easily.
We are excited about getting Employee Access added to our system which will improve district communication with our staff, while streamlining payroll and time off functions. We hope to improve the requisition and purchasing processes with this module also.
We are very pleased by Skyward's customer service.

Our school district has been a customer of Skyward for over a decade now. We have always appreciated the customer service care we receive from Skyward anytime we have had a question or concern. I have appreciated the availablilty of talking with customer service directly over the phone, or even having them link with me and go over a solution to a problem right on my computer. In addition, resolving issues generally take place the same day or within a day of the service call being made to them. With such a busy schedule that we educators all have, it is nice that these issues can be taken care of in a timely fashion.

With the state contract, the district will save a little over 45% the first year in student costs. With so much uncertainty in public education funding these days, that added up to a savings too great to ignore. Although I really enjoyed the PaC side of Skyward, the web based transition has been very smooth. Skyward's team of trainers, which are in place to help new districts changing over to Skyward from another SIS, is one of the best I have been associated with. Skyward is also very good at keeping up with the State of Kansas and the data that is required by each district. They continually must make changes to Skyward so we are all in compliance, and that is a big job that they do well!

I understand that about 25% of all Illinois Schools are now using Skyward....I'd like to know what the other 75% are waiting for! In my role as IT support, I work with students, educators, staff, and administration at the Illinois School for the Deaf, and I can't imagine doing my job without Skyward.

Our educators use the Special Education within Skyward. With Skyward's flexible security system, every staff member plays his/her part in the IEP process rather than the traditional method of one person being the "collector" and responsible for inputting all the data. Administration is quite confident that anytime they need a report or statistics, the solution is easily obtained with a Data Mining report. Principals love the fact that eligibility reports can be scheduled to run automatically and the results emailed to them.

I have worked with Skyward for about 19 years in two different schools and, currently, two different versions (DOS and PaC). The program is incredibly user-friendly, but, more importantly, the sales and support staff are fantastic. Questions are answered promptly and issues are resolved in a very timely manner. There is always a friendly voice on the other end of the line. The Web product was challenging, but, once again, the sales and support staff have been extremely helpful in providing the information we need to continue into the new year with the new version.

In August, I stopped using PaC cold turkey and forced myself and other staff members to use the web product exclusively. Things fell into place relatively easily and I have been able to call my rep with the news that I love the program, especially the new web-based version!

I have been associated with Skyward for about 15 years. The school administration program has been phenomenal. It's easy to learn and versatile enough to provide me with all the necessary tools I need to operate efficiently. The Family Access and Gradebook are my favorite modules-I no longer print report cards and progress reports as parents have direct, immediate access to that information and can contact teachers directly from those modules. Our teachers enjoy the simplicity of the Gradebook and the fact that it has made their jobs easier as well. Customer support both in sales and service is wonderful.

I used D2D and liked it. It saved time for myself and will save time for the nurse’s room as they do not have to hand enter in those immunizations anymore. It put in the basic info that I needed and saved me lots of time!

As a non-high-school district, we used district to district transfer when moving our 8th grade students to 9th grade. Shelton SD staff did not have to enter in 85 new students' names, parents or home information. This feature reduces errors, increases secretary time and is a cost saving tool for both districts involved.

District to Distrct is an absolutely wonderful tool and time saver for transferring vaccination information, and is also helpful for transcript information when identifying state course code and content information attached to course titles that very from district to district.

Skyward has brought the classroom teacher and parents together in our district. Parents can choose their level of involvement in their students education from monitoring assignments, grades, attendance, and weekly progress reports to receiving messages from teachers and administration through Family Access.
