Over 1,000 Education Professionals attend Software and Service User Group, Inc. Fall Conference

Education professionals from around Wisconsin gather in the Wisconsin Dells to learn how to better utilize their Skyward administrative software

December 5, 2008

STEVENS POINT, WI December 5, 2008 – Over 1,000 education professionals from around Wisconsin attended the Software and Service User Group, Inc. (SAS) 2008 Fall User Group Conference on October 27-28, 2008 at the Kalahari Resort in the Wisconsin Dells. The conference is designed specifically for the over 80% of Wisconsin school districts that run the Skyward School Management System for their administrative software.

Throughout the two day conference, Skyward staff, school district employees and representatives from state and federal agencies lead over 154 sessions on everything from state reporting to managing school-based activity accounts. Attendees were also introduced to new Skyward features, such as Online Assignments, a paperless alternative for creating homework assignments, quizzes, and tests.

Conference attendees go to SAS User Group Conferences not only to learn about how to manage their school district’s administrative tasks by using Skyward software, but also to network with colleagues from other districts and share ideas.

“The information obtained from attending a SAS User Group Conference is priceless,” said Frona Tenuta, President of the Software and Service User Group, Inc. and Lead SIS Analyst for the Racine Unified School District. “I can’t tell you how many times someone has piped up and explained how they use Skyward software in a different way to accomplish the same task as someone else. Everyone walks away with a different and more efficient way to do their job.”

Skyward staff also benefits from attending the two-day conference by meeting the people who use the software that they design and support. Whether it’s in an informative session or during a break in the conference, Skyward staff is on hand to answer any questions and listen to feedback users have about the administrative software they use on a day-to-day basis.

“The SAS User Group Conferences were created to allow the users of Skyward software to have a stronger voice in what the software accomplishes,” said Tenuta. “Having Skyward staff at the conferences is an invaluable resource that adds to the success of the conference.”

The Software and Service User Group, Inc.
