Skylert School Messaging System a Proven Success

Peoria Public School District uses Skylert regularly to relay important information to parents, students, and staff

STEVENS POINT, WI November 7, 2008 – Skyward, the industry leading K-12 school management system, announced today that the Skylert school messaging system is a proven success in the Peoria Public School District in Peoria, Illinois. Skylert is the newest way for school districts to quickly send mass notifications. Messages can be sent via phone, email, and/or text message to employees, parents, and students in the case of an emergency.

In July 2008, the Peoria Public School District purchased Skylert to complement their existing Skyward Student Management software. With a district population of over 15,000 students, Peoria was looking for a notification system to quickly send messages for absences and emergencies. Peoria has used Skylert in a number of ways since its summer implementation.

The Peoria Public School District uses Skylert during daily attendance calls to notify parents if their child is not at school. When food service balances are low or negative, Skylert is used to inform parents of their decreasing account. Skylert is also used to communicate general messages to families about upcoming events in the district.
