Skyward Corporate Partner Progress Software Named to Forbes List for Second Consecutive Year
January 12, 2007
Skyward’s corporate partner, Progress Software of Bedford, MA, was recognized by Forbes magazine as one of the 200 Best Small Companies for the second consecutive year. Progress moved up 28 spots on the list to #148 this year.
The annual Forbes 200 Best Small Companies list is a compilation of financially successful small-cap businesses. In order to be considered for the Forbes 200, companies must have revenue between $5 million and $750 million, net profit margins greater than five percent and share prices above $5 as of September 29, 2005.
"As evidenced by our ascent in the Forbes 200 Best Small Companies list, Progress Software continues its growth by expanding into new markets with innovative technology applications," said Bud Roberston, CFO of Progress Software. "We continue to be at the forefront of next generation technologies, such as service-oriented architecture and event stream processing, providing our customers and partners with powerful applications to meet their business needs. With a successful acquisition track record and long history of sustained organic growth with 21 consecutive quarters of year-on-year revenue growth, Progress is well positioned to capitalize on current and emerging market trends."
In March of 2006 Progress named Skyward as their North American Partner of the Year in recognition of Skyward’s ability to engage with Progress to evolve its business and adopt technologies that address the needs of its customers. Skyward utilizes Progress software to write programs that allow teachers, school administrators, and parents to quickly communicate information about students at just the click of a mouse. Using Progress software, Skyward was able to create the first ever fully integrated school and business office package for the K-12 environment.
Skyward Vice President Scott Glinski states, “While the results of our partnership with Progress speak for themselves, we are pleased that Progress Software is receiving this well deserved recognition from Forbes. Our affiliation with Progress has enabled both of our companies to continue to achieve exceptional growth. This recognition from Forbes Magazine serves as a further evidence of the value of our partnership.”
