December 23, 2008
This has been a great year at Osakis Public Schools. I have put together a “Top 10” list to share
some of the items that made 2008 a banner year:
- Refinished floor in high school gymnasium (floor was refinished with new lines).
- New scoreboard for softball field (digital wireless scoreboard).
- Skyward Student Management System (user friendly system for teachers and parents –
grades, lunch, attendance, discipline, etc.).
- Updated computers in high school writing lab (30 more Internet-available computers).
- New interactive white boards (white boards that interact with a computer).
- Study island (individually paced math and reading program).
- New elementary science curriculum (textbooks, software and manipulatives).
- Top test scores in ACT, math and science (some of the best high school scores in the
state).
- Four sections of kindergarten (large kindergarten class).
- New addition (voters approved a new addition to start in April 2009).
Thank you to the students, staff, parents and community for making this another great year at
Osakis Public Schools. The 2009 year will be a year of anticipation as we wait for the
construction process to run its cycle. The building project is planned to be completed by the start
of school in the fall of 2010.
