Area school superintendents are optimistic about the implementation of a new comprehensive
software system that should improve school efficiency.
Skyward is currently in the process of replacing Student Data Systems as the software of many
schools around the country including Hillsdale, Jonesville and Reading schools and the Hillsdale
County Intermediate School District, among others.
“The software we were using, we thought was inadequate,” Michael Potts, the superintendent of
the Jonesville and Reading school districts, said. “Skyward is more versatile, more dynamic,
easier to use and more intuitive.”
Bob Henthorne, superintendent of the ISD, agreed.
“It allows us to look at data in a much more meaningful way,” he said. “It’s also easier for
Skyward to communicate with other software packages so we can move information back and
forth. It’s easier to use for all involved.”
